About a year ago I became more conscientious about eating foods as close to their original form as possible, pretty much as you've described it here. When my husband broke his neck, I took the extra step I've been resisting. I stopped using the microwave.

I kept telling myself nuking food didn't really affect its nutritional value, but a friend finally convinced me to stop the nuking. It's much less convenient to use the oven and stovetop for reheating, and I hate that it uses more electricity, but I've become convinced that it's healthier. Both my parents died of cancer.
