Anyone late for a scheduled group event, especially one that involves travel, should just expect to be left out. It’s one thing to be late for a casual party in someone’s home where being late won’t really inconvenience the host or the other guests. It’s quite another to be late for a meeting at a public place or for a meeting that needs to start on time. I often wonder if these inconsiderate people who feel free to be tardy to events with friends have the same attitude when planning to board a plane or train or bus which will not wait for them.
