I am one of these people. Fortunately, I’m now able to work from home as a writer who gets her main income from rentals and my husband does most of the work associated with those rentals. That means I can write far into the morning and then sleep as late as I need to. I used to be able to burn the candle at both ends, but I’m too old to do it now. I love being able to choose my working hours now.
I’m wondering how you emergency physicians can be as efficient as you need to be when you work 24-hour shifts and why hospitals make such schedules. It would seem it’s not in the best interests of patients or doctors. Tired people make more mistakes.
