I can see anyone who comes up my walk from my home office window. Whenever the person making the delivery is running, I know it will be an Amazon package. Amazon tends to exploit everyone but its customers, and I've heard it has sneaky ways to do that, as well.

They exploited sellers on used book listing sites to learn the business from them, and then either bought those sites to close them down or bought the most popular, ABE, to control it. Now they continue to exploit used booksellers who list as third parties to sell on their site. People sell more on Amazon, but that volume is at the expense of the profit they used to make when they could sell at fair prices with lower fees on other sites.

Amazon has almost destroyed local independent bookstores who can't compete against the low prices Amazon gets for the volume rates it is able to get from publishers.

in my opinion, Amazon is an equal opportunity exploiter. If it can, it will.
