Working on social media is hard. You have to be productive on a platform that was created to be addictive. Writing on a computer is hard because you have to be productive on a tool that gives you access to so many distractions.

I recently started to sell books on Instagram. That means I need to spend a lot of time getting to know people who would be interested in buying those books and interacting with them. I believe it was you that advised me to do that in one of your articles here. I consider this active rather than passive activity and necessary as part of my work. Most content I consume online is part of the give and take bloggers need to get eyeballs to what they write.
I agree that working on social media subjects me to much distraction. I usually have blinders on when it comes to ads. I automatically tune them out and I also leave my speakers off on the computer. I turn off notifications for almost everything. That helps a lot.
