I think we all wonder what the response will be when we first publish something. We are all eager for the claps and comments. I love the way Medium makes it easier for us to find an audience. It’s always a high to be accepted into a new publication. I’m glad your first byline in Brevity was greeted so warmly.
But we do have to be able to accept that not all posts will be as successful as our most popular posts. No one’s sense of self-worth should depend on the opinions of others. What people think will always matter to us, and we can often learn from the feedback we get from them. We just shouldn’t let that feedback, negative or positive, determine our own sense of worth.
