I’m a MeWE member but it’s hard for me to get used to the site. It’s very busy. There are plenty of venomous posts on MeWe just like on Facebook. That’s too bad. It seems there are few places today where people with differing opinions can have civil discussions. I’m afraid to go back tonight and face the heat I got on a comment I made last night that suggested we don’t have to show hatred to Muslims who happen to be in America if we meet them on a personal level. Perhaps I’ll forget the timeline and just participate in blogging and photography groups.

The trouble is, all my Medium and other blogging networking groups are still on Facebook, so I can’t cut it out of my life. I don’t think they will all move to MeWe. And that’s why Facebook still has somewhat of a monopoly. I was a member of Zurker a few years ago when it was an alternative site to Facebook and protected privacy. The problem with all these sites is that unless large groups migrate to the new sites, people won’t move if their friends don’t join them.
