It’s a bit late for me to think about this, but after I graduated it wasn’t something I had to think too much about. I went from being a student to a wife within a week after graduation. I took a semester off, and within a few months, we moved to a different city and went back to being students again. After a year I was a teacher. My husband was a grad student for years, usually while working either full or parttime in his field. I guess it’s harder for many new graduates to have a job waiting today.

Part of the problem occurs when people get their sense of worth, their identity from what they do instead of who they are. I identify as a child of God and that never changes.
