…Francisco may be taken aback by its length, remoteness, and wildness. It’s a reminder to those that nature is always nearby, and that even the mighty Bay Area metropolis is perched tenuously on the edge of something older and much, much bigger.

That’s the sort of walk I enjoy, though I’ve not yet taken one that long by myself. Most of my walks are along the Salinas River in Paso Robles or on Central Coast beaches. At my age it’s no longer wise for me to walk in isolated places alone. I do prefer solitude on my walks so that I can go at my own pace and make frequent photo shots without slowing a walking partner down. I miss those solo photo walks. I can see by your photos I would have enjoyed your beach walk.
