Valentine’s Day used to be a much bigger deal when I was younger. Now I really don’t care that much to celebrate things. My husband doesn’t care much either anymore since he’s almost 80. He did not grow up in America celebrating many of our American holidays so he doesn’t consider the “Hallmark holiday” traditions all that important. It used to bother me but now I almost appreciate the fact that we can stay home and we don’t have to go out and do things just because society says we should. Sometimes we go out for dinner to celebrate and sometimes we don’t. It’s nice to be free of the social pressure and do what we please.
