Very well-written, Bett. During my long Christian life I have had many growth spurts and I’ve also had times of doubt or stagnation. The Holy Spirit has always been faithful in bringing me back when I’ve wandered. Those Christian friends you mentioned often helped with that. They would call me to account and pray for me. I would do the same for them when the shoe was on the other foot.

As I get closer to eighty, my body doesn’t work quite the way it used to, but I thank God I’m still independent and mobile. I try to take care of my body, but I’m failing more and more in the exercise department. I’m doing pretty well with nutrition.

Gratitude is a wonderful habit because it keeps me focused on the One every blessing comes from. Reading the Bible and praying helps me know Him better and trust Him more.
