We took our children to see Plimoth Plantation in 1989. The role players did a great job of staying in character, especially the one talking to my teen-aged daughter. He heard her arguing with my husband and infuriated her by telling her she needed to get her father's consent before getting married. (I don't recall how that subject of marriage came up. ) I do remember the look on her face. She was totally shocked that anyone would dare say something like that to her.
